Founders
Megan and Cieara, with a combined 12 years of experience working on superyachts, co-founded Super Yachting Nautical Careers (SYNC) in Cape Town in 2019. Having swiftly ascended through the ranks and served as Chief Stewardesses aboard numerous superyachts alongside high-profile guests and celebrities, they possess invaluable insights into what it truly means to excel as a Superyacht Stew.
While Megan has since transitioned back to the boats, where she thrives as an exceptional Chief Stewardess, her legacy remains integral to SYNC’s ethos. Cieara now spearheads the company alongside the Superwoman Olga, while the Superyacht stew course is expertly led by rotational Chief Stews, notably Cassidy Malherbe, our primary Chief Stew who brings a wealth of experience onboard and is an exceptional teacher.
At SYNC, we lead with our hearts, prioritizing genuine care and support for individuals—particularly women—seeking to enter the industry in a conscious and confident manner. Our mission is rooted in empowering others, sisterhood, connection and support, ensuring they feel equipped and empowered to embrace their roles and thrive in the dynamic world of yachting.
Cieara
Cieara joined the Superyacht industry at age 20. With a passion for travel, the ocean, sailing, nutrition, health and adventure, Cieara didn’t hesitate to jump on board the Superyacht industry. Her service and culinary background made it easy for her to move between departments working on beautiful motor and sailing yachts around the world.
Her enthusiastic, friendly and hard-working nature helped her quickly climb the ropes to Head of Service, Chief Stewardess and later as Chef on pristine and luxury yachts where she became a valuable and versatile crew member.
With a drive to become a well rounded crew member, and motivated to grow and explore, Cieara has worked for 8+ years on both Motor and Sail yachts ranging from 30 – 110 meters.
Having recently returned home to Cape Town, she is excited to share her vast knowledge of the industry with aspiring stewardesses and help them to launch their careers with confidence, clarity and skill.

Megan
After graduating with a degree in Psychology and English, Megan knew that she had to follow her life-long dream of venturing overseas to explore the world. Being a lover of people, travel and adventure, when she heard about the superyacht industry she knew it was the perfect job. Megan received her first Junior Stewardess job on board a heavy charter boat. Working for high profile guests, with busy turnaround times, laid the groundwork in her training and helped her quickly move up the ranks to Second Stewardess on a 62m yacht and then to Chief Stewardess on a 67m yacht.
Megan’s passion for the ocean has lured her back onto the yachts. Right now, she could be sipping Sangria in the South of Spain or swimming with whale sharks in the Sea of Cortez.
